Learning Support

Students learn at different rates so standardised assessment is not always helpful to the student as it only really shows us students capability in comparison to other students. We really want to know how they are progressing in different areas - not how they compare to others.

Choice Learning can assess the specific areas that students need help in and provide resources that will support the acquisition of these skills. Step by step this will lead to independence and confidence so that students can start to extend learning.

Signs an assessment may benefit your child

  • Avoiding school or schoolwork

  • Insecure about reading (doesn't want to read aloud)

  • Problems with spelling

  • Mispronouncing words

  • Complains of dizziness

  • Labelled lazy or dumb

  • Zones "out"
